A Sunday getting things done

I resolved to get some stuff done today...

1. Got the 100' of copper dipole antenna wire strung between two trees out back. Used the extension ladder to get a high in the trees as possible. Probably about 16 feet up. Would be better higher but this will do for now. Used PVC for the center and end insulators and used pulleys up in the trees so the whole antenna can be lowered to the ground. Still need to trim some branches. Also ordered a 1.6m-30m 50 ohm balun. Ordered a couple of pl-259 connectors for the feed cable to the radio too. Will need to bring it in thru the wall.. Need a really long drill bit for it the size of a large enough PVC pipe to work as a conduit thru the wall.

2. Tested the method of valve grinding using a drill and vacuum hose to connect the drill to the valve. Seems to work. Cylinder two's exhaust valve on the first Subaru 2.5 is definitely bent. Probably will need a new seat. Going to look into using the head from engine #2, but suspicious that it is either really warped or cracked because the cylinders were full of coolant. Could be the head gasket but it sure was a lot of coolant.

3. Drained about 2 gallons of coolant from the dozer and replaced it with 100% antifreeze. The freezing point was around 0 before thickening it. Should be good now.

4. Used the dozer to dig a really annoying rock out of the yard beyond the garden. Was in the way of taking the truck down into the woods. Also pushed out a few more old rotten stumps and pushed them down into Mt Stumpmore in the woods.

5. Got the valve off of one of the old propane tanks and filled and emptied it with water twice. Will fill it again before butt
