ChildrenMy son Akiva is named after one of my Russian ancestors. Akiva also refers to the Jewish "freedom-fighter" Reb Akiva, spiritual leader of the Bar Kokhba revolt against the Romans, 132 a.d. The revolt was a dismal failure, sealed the schism between Judaism and Christianity and led to millenia of persecution of the Jews. I still like the name and Akiva is the smartest, most handsome boy on earth. My daughter Emma Rose was named after her maternal grandmother and her Aunt. She is a virtuoso on the piano, has taken up the flute and is the smartest, prettiest girl on earth. She made this: Bad Dog!!!! |
